Weather Channel
Storm coverage network
The Weather Channel is an American cable television network devoted to weather forecasts, meteorological news, and storm coverage.
Founded in 1982, it became the default source for weather information before smartphone apps.
The name now extends to the network's website and streaming services.
Watching the Weather Channel has become associated with anxious storm tracking or, stereotypically, with retirees and insomniacs: My dad just leaves the Weather Channel on all day.
