W-2 forms
Annual wage statements
W-2 forms are tax documents that U.S. employers must provide to employees annually, reporting wages paid and taxes withheld.
The form goes to both the employee and the IRS, serving as the official record for filing income taxes: I can't do my taxes until I get my W-2 forms.
The name comes from the IRS form number.
