V formation
Migratory birds' pattern
V formation is an arrangement where individuals or objects position themselves in the shape of the letter V, with a leader at the point and others trailing at angles behind.
Most commonly describes how migratory birds like geese fly, each bird benefiting from the updraft created by the one ahead.
Military aircraft and sports teams also use V formations for tactical advantage: The bombers approached in tight V formation.
