Timecop
Chrono-crime investigator
Timecop is a 1994 science fiction action film starring Jean-Claude Van Damme as a federal agent who polices time travel to prevent criminals from altering history for personal gain.
The premise—that time travel exists but must be regulated—spawned a franchise including a sequel and television series.
The term occasionally appears in broader discussions of time travel fiction or as shorthand for anyone tasked with enforcing temporal rules or consistency.
