The Prophet
One who foretells
A reference to Muhammad, the founder of Islam, regarded by Muslims as the final messenger of God.
The definite article and capital P distinguish this title from other prophets.
In broader use, *The Prophet* is also the title of Kahlil Gibran's 1923 book of philosophical poetry: She gave me a copy of The Prophet when I graduated.
