Swissair
Helvetian flag carrier
Swissair was the national airline of Switzerland from 1931 until its collapse in 2001.
Once known as "the flying bank" for its reputation of reliability and financial stability, its sudden grounding due to cash shortages shocked the aviation industry: I was stranded when Swissair stopped flying overnight.
Swiss International Air Lines succeeded it.
