Snapchat filters
Augmented selfie effects
Snapchat filters are digital overlays applied to photos and videos within the Snapchat app, modifying appearance in real time.
Some add decorative elements like dog ears or flower crowns; others smooth skin, enlarge eyes, or reshape facial features.
The technology uses facial recognition to track and transform.
Filter has become shorthand for any app-based facial modification: She looks different without a filter.
