Sarah McLachlan

Sarah McLachlan is a Canadian singer-songwriter known for emotional ballads and the lilting soprano that delivers them.

She founded Lilith Fair, an all-female touring music festival in the late 1990s.

Her song "Angel" became so associated with animal shelter commercials that her name now evokes tearful appeals for abused pets: Every time I see a Sarah McLachlan commercial, I change the channel.
