Lilith Fair
Women's music tour
Lilith Fair was a touring music festival featuring female solo artists and female-led bands, running from 1997 to 1999 and briefly revived in 2010.
Founded by Sarah McLachlan, it challenged the music industry assumption that audiences wouldn't attend concerts headlined by multiple women.
The name references Lilith, Adam's mythological first wife who refused submission.
I saw Fiona Apple at Lilith Fair in '98.
