Psalm 91
Shelter and shadow
Psalm 91 is a passage from the Hebrew Bible expressing trust in divine protection.
Often called the "protection psalm," it promises safety from dangers—pestilence, terror, arrows, lions, serpents—to those who shelter in God: He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
The psalm is recited in times of danger, illness, or fear, and appears in Jewish, Christian, and folk traditions as a talisman against evil.
