Pokémon Shield is a 2019 role-playing video game for Nintendo Switch, released alongside Pokémon Sword as paired versions of the eighth generation of the Pokémon franchise.

Shield features the legendary Pokémon Zamazenta on its cover and includes version-exclusive Pokémon and gym leaders that differ from Sword: I chose Shield because I wanted Galarian Ponyta.
