P-plate
Probationary driver sign
A P-plate is a sign displayed on a vehicle to indicate the driver holds a provisional license—having passed the driving test but still in a probationary period.
Used primarily in Australia and the United Kingdom, P-plates (for "probationary") signal to other drivers that the person behind the wheel is relatively inexperienced: She just got off her P-plates last month.
