OBD-II

Vehicle diagnostic port

OBD-II is the standardized vehicle diagnostic system required in all cars sold in the United States since 1996.

The port, usually located under the dashboard, allows mechanics and scan tools to read error codes, monitor engine performance, and check emissions data.

The check engine light came on, so I plugged a reader into the OBD-II port.
