Nordic walking
Poled fitness striding
Nordic walking is a fitness activity in which walkers use specially designed poles to engage their upper body while walking.
The technique originated in Finland as off-season training for cross-country skiers.
The poles add resistance and help propel the walker forward: She took up Nordic walking to get more of a full-body workout.
