Lyme test
Borreliosis detection method
A Lyme test is a blood test that detects antibodies produced in response to infection with the bacteria that cause Lyme disease.
Because antibodies take weeks to develop, early tests may show false negatives.
The standard approach uses two tests in sequence: The doctor ordered a Lyme test after she found the tick bite.
