Laverne and Shirley
Brewery-working best friends
Laverne and Shirley is an American television sitcom that aired from 1976 to 1983, following two female roommates working at a Milwaukee brewery.
A spinoff of Happy Days, it became one of the most popular shows of its era.
The title characters—played by Penny Marshall and Cindy Williams—represented working-class women navigating friendship, romance, and blue-collar life.
The show's theme song, with its nonsense opening "Schlemiel!
Schlimazel!", remains culturally recognizable.
