High dynamic range
HDR photos are images created by combining multiple exposures of the same scene to capture a wider range of light and shadow than a single shot allows.
HDR stands for high dynamic range.
The technique produces images where both bright skies and dark foregrounds show detail: The HDR photo revealed texture in the clouds and the shadowed canyon walls.
Overprocessed HDR has a distinctive artificial look—saturated colors and exaggerated contrast—that some find striking and others garish.
