Belief in omnipotence
A God complex is an unshakeable belief in one's own infallibility, superiority, or unlimited power.
Someone with a God complex acts as though they're above ordinary rules and criticism, expecting others to defer to their judgment without question.
The term appears frequently in descriptions of surgeons, executives, and other authority figures whose confidence crosses into arrogance: The new CEO has a God complex—he thinks he can do no wrong.
