Dutch pastries
Laminated dough confections
Dutch pastries are sweet baked goods made from laminated dough—similar to Danish pastries or croissants—typically filled with fruit, custard, or almond paste and often topped with icing or glaze.
Despite the name, they have stronger associations with Danish and Viennese baking traditions than with the Netherlands.
In American bakeries, Dutch pastry often refers to a fruit-filled turnover or pocket made with flaky, buttery dough.
