Dragon's Den
Entrepreneurial funding arena
Dragon's Den is a television format where entrepreneurs pitch business ideas to a panel of wealthy investors ("dragons") hoping to secure funding in exchange for equity.
Originating in Japan, the format spread globally—the British version is best known, while the American adaptation is called Shark Tank.
The term now describes any high-stakes pitch situation: It felt like walking into a dragon's den presenting to the board.
