Dianetics
Hubbard's mental system
Dianetics is a set of ideas and practices developed by L.
Ron Hubbard in 1950, presented as a science of the mind.
The system claims that traumatic memories called "engrams" cause psychological and physical problems, which can be cleared through a therapeutic process called "auditing." Dianetics became the foundation for Scientology, which Hubbard later developed into a religion.
The book *Dianetics: The Modern Science of Mental Mind* remains central to Scientology practice, though mainstream psychology and medicine reject its claims as pseudoscience.
