Christian mission
Spreading the faith
Christian mission is the organized effort to spread Christianity, typically through evangelism, charitable work, or establishing churches in new regions.
Missionaries carry out this work, historically traveling to foreign lands to convert non-Christians.
The term also refers to a physical establishment—a church, school, or aid station—built to serve this purpose: The Spanish missions of California.
Mission work today often combines religious teaching with humanitarian aid.
