Bugsy Siegel
Infamous casino gangster
Benjamin "Bugsy" Siegel (1906–1947) was an American mobster who helped establish organized crime in Las Vegas.
A founding member of Murder, Inc., he was known for his violent temper—the nickname "Bugsy" (which he hated) meant crazy.
He developed the Flamingo Hotel casino but was murdered, likely for cost overruns that angered his mob investors.
