Brazil nuts
Amazonian tree seeds
Brazil nuts are the large, crescent-shaped seeds of a South American tree, harvested from round woody pods that contain a dozen or more tightly packed nuts.
They have a rich, creamy flavor and high oil content.
The name refers to their origin in the Amazon basin, though the tree grows throughout tropical South America: a handful of Brazil nuts, Brazil nut allergies.
