Big Papi
Big Papi is the nickname of David Ortiz, the Dominican baseball player who spent most of his career with the Boston Red Sox.
The name combines the Spanish word for father with his imposing physical presence and larger-than-life personality.
Ortiz became beloved in Boston for clutch hitting in three World Series championships: Big Papi came through again in the playoffs.
