Bellman

Optimal substructure pioneer

A bellman is a hotel employee who carries guests' luggage, escorts them to their rooms, and assists with various requests.

The term comes from the bell that historically summoned such attendants.

In older usage, a bellman was a town crier or night watchman who rang a bell while making announcements.

The bellman brought our bags up and showed us how to work the room's thermostat.
