Aztec ruins
Ancient Mexican remains
Aztec ruins are the physical remains of structures built by the Aztec civilization, which dominated central Mexico before Spanish conquest in the 16th century.
The term refers to temples, pyramids, and urban remnants—most famously at sites like Tenochtitlan (beneath modern Mexico City) and Templo Mayor.
We visited the Aztec ruins outside the capital.
