The Asian hornet is a large predatory wasp native to Asia, now invasive in Europe and elsewhere.
It preys heavily on honeybees, making it a serious threat to beekeeping and pollination.
Slightly smaller than the European hornet, it has a distinctive dark body with yellow-tipped legs and an orange face.
