Ash Wednesdays
Foreheads get marked
Ash Wednesdays is the plural of Ash Wednesday, the Christian holy day marking the start of Lent.
It falls forty-six days before Easter and is observed with fasting and the application of ashes to the forehead in the shape of a cross.
The plural appears when referring to multiple years: I've attended Mass on twelve Ash Wednesdays now.
