Amazon Kindle
Electronic book device
Amazon Kindle is a line of e-readers and tablets developed by Amazon, first released in 2007.
The devices are designed primarily for reading digital books, magazines, and newspapers purchased through Amazon's ecosystem.
Kindle also refers to the app and file format that allows reading on non-Kindle devices.
The name evokes the idea of igniting interest or sparking imagination, as one kindles a fire.
