Alaska wilderness

Vast northern frontier

Alaska wilderness refers to the vast, largely untouched natural landscapes of Alaska—remote regions of tundra, mountains, forests, and coastline with minimal human presence or development.

The phrase evokes both the physical geography and an ideal of pristine nature: They spent three weeks in the Alaska wilderness without seeing another person.

Much of this land is federally protected, though "Alaska wilderness" can describe any wild Alaskan terrain, whether officially designated or not.
