Fast corridor train
Acela is Amtrak's high-speed rail service connecting cities along the Northeast Corridor of the United States, running from Boston through New York and Philadelphia to Washington, D.C.
The name suggests acceleration.
The train is faster and more expensive than regional service, popular with business travelers: I take the Acela to New York for meetings.
