Abuja
Lagos's official replacement
Abuja is the capital city of Nigeria, located in the center of the country.
It replaced Lagos as the capital in 1991, chosen partly for its central location among Nigeria's diverse ethnic regions.
The city was purpose-built as an administrative center: The conference will be held in Abuja next month.
