3D TV
Glasses-required home viewing
3D TV refers to television technology that creates the illusion of depth, making images appear to extend into or out of the screen.
Most systems required special glasses to work.
The technology saw a brief surge of consumer interest around 2010 before largely disappearing from the market: We bought a 3D TV but never used the glasses after the first month.
