2B pencil
Artist's soft graphite
A 2B pencil is a graphite pencil with soft, dark lead, commonly used for drawing and sketching.
The "B" indicates blackness—higher B numbers mean softer graphite that leaves darker marks. 2B sits in the middle of the B range, offering a good balance between darkness and precision: I prefer a 2B pencil for shading.
