yada

Verbal hand wave

Yada is a placeholder for tedious or predictable details being skipped over, almost always in the reduplicated form yada yada yada: He gave me the whole speech about responsibility, yada yada yada.

The word suggests the speaker considers the omitted content boring, obvious, or not worth repeating.

Popularized by a 1997 *Seinfeld* episode, though the word predates it.
