wrong folder
Not the right location
Wrong folder describes the error of saving, moving, or looking for a file in an unintended location.
It's a common minor frustration of digital organization: I saved the report to the wrong folder and spent twenty minutes hunting for it.
The phrase captures the moment of realization that something isn't where it should be.
