working mother
Breadwinning mom, multitasking
A working mother is a woman who has children and also holds paid employment outside the home.
The term emerged when mothers in the workforce were less common and implies a contrast with stay-at-home mothers.
It's sometimes criticized for suggesting that raising children isn't itself work: She juggles her schedule as a working mother.
The parallel term "working father" is rarely used.
