web shooters
Adhesive strand dispensers
Web shooters are devices that discharge webbing, most famously the wrist-mounted gadgets used by Spider-Man to swing between buildings and ensnare villains.
In the original comics, Peter Parker invented them; in some adaptations, he produces webbing organically.
The term sometimes appears in discussions of real-world grappling or adhesive-projection technology inspired by the fictional concept.
