Crystal's metal ring
A watch bezel is the ring surrounding the watch face, holding the crystal in place.
On basic watches it's purely structural, but on dive watches and pilot's watches, the bezel rotates and includes markings for timing or calculations: He turned the bezel to track his elapsed dive time.
Decorative bezels may be set with gems.
