warm line
Non-emergency helpline
A warm line is a telephone support service for people experiencing emotional distress or mental health difficulties that falls short of crisis level.
Unlike a crisis hotline, which handles acute emergencies like suicidal thoughts, a warm line offers non-emergency peer support—someone to talk to before things escalate: I called the warm line when I was feeling isolated but not in danger.
