Escorted student group
A walking bus is an organized group of children walking to or from school together, supervised by adults who walk the route on a set schedule.
Like a bus route, it has designated stops where children join.
Parents take turns as "drivers" and "conductors": Our neighborhood started a walking bus to reduce traffic at drop-off.
