volleyers
Players at net
Volleyers are players who hit the ball before it bounces, particularly in tennis and volleyball.
In tennis, a volleyer favors playing close to the net rather than from the baseline: Serve-and-volleyers dominated the grass courts of Wimbledon for decades.
The term describes both a style of play and anyone executing a volley at a given moment.
