voice voting
Oral election method
Voice voting is a method of taking a vote where members call out "aye" or "no" together, and the presiding officer judges which side is louder.
It's the quickest way to decide uncontroversial matters in legislatures and meetings: The motion passed on a voice vote.
When the outcome is unclear or contested, a formal count replaces it.
