voice mimicry
Copying spoken tones
Voice mimicry is the imitation of another person's voice, capturing their tone, accent, and speech patterns.
The term applies both to deliberate performances—impressionists doing celebrities, children mocking teachers—and to natural abilities some people have for picking up accents: Her voice mimicry was so good I thought it was actually him on the phone.
With AI technology, voice mimicry now also refers to software that can clone a person's voice from audio samples.
