Unscratchable describes a surface that resists scratching or cannot be scratched.
The term appears in marketing for durable materials—phone screens, eyeglass lenses, countertops: The manufacturer claims the coating is unscratchable.
Like most absolute claims, it invites skepticism; few surfaces are truly impervious to all abrasion.
