unplowed
Still wild earth
Unplowed describes land or soil that has not been turned over by a plow in preparation for planting.
A field left unplowed may be fallow, set aside for conservation, or simply neglected.
In winter, unplowed also applies to roads or surfaces not yet cleared of snow: The unplowed streets made the morning commute treacherous.
Figuratively, unplowed can suggest unexplored territory or untapped potential.
