Unlikable describes someone difficult to feel warmth or affection toward.
The quality may stem from personality, behavior, or manner: The protagonist is deliberately unlikable—selfish, petty, vindictive.
Unlike hateful or detestable, unlikable suggests a milder, more passive response: you simply don't warm to the person rather than actively despising them.
