unburrow

Exit the tunnel

To unburrow is to emerge from or leave a burrow, or to bring something out of a concealed or protected space.

Animals unburrow when they come out of their underground homes, and people unburrow figuratively when they emerge from seclusion or hiding.

After weeks of isolating in her apartment, she finally unburrowed and rejoined the world.

The word can also mean to extract something that has been buried or tucked away: He unburrowed the old photographs from the bottom of the closet.
