unbloodied
Never seen combat
Unbloodied describes something or someone that has not been stained or marked with blood, or more figuratively, that has not yet experienced combat or conflict.
A soldier who is unbloodied has not seen battle; an unbloodied sword has never drawn blood.
The term often carries connotations of inexperience or untested status: The unbloodied recruits were eager but naive about what awaited them.
